Hotels and Accommodations Can Be Cheap Too!

airbnb

Now that you’ve learned how to get flight deals, you might be wondering “but what about hotels?” I don’t just travel frequently because I am getting affordable flights but it’s also because my accommodations are affordable as well. Here’s how:

  1. Ebates: When possible, I go through Ebates to click a link and then book my accommodations. Or, you can easily install their cash back button which prompts you to click to activate cash back whenever you visit a site that partners with Ebates. Then, you get a percentage of cash back on your purchase amount.  I usually use Ebates when I book with Expedia but you can check their site to see what hotels or booking sites they are also partnered with.
  • Gilt–  Gilt is a great website to use for hotel deals. They offer sales for certain hotels and locations which tend to be significantly cheaper than the going rate. I have used this website twice and both times was able to get the best possible price for the hotel I selected. Be sure to keep an eye out for when your desired hotels and locations become available/go on sale.
  • Airbnb- For those who don’t know, Airbnb is a site that allows you to rent rooms or the entire home for someone’s apartment or house in various places around the world. Since experimenting with Airbnb in 2014, I have had nothing but positive experiences. (I’ve used it for France, England, Norway, Amsterdam, Sweden, Puerto Rico, Italy, Abu Dhabi and Dubai) Airbnb has proven to be one of the most affordable options for accommodations and gives you a true insider’s view of the city you’re in. New users can receive a $35 travel credit when booking their first trip and by recommending someone else who books a trip. This has become one of my favorite ways to travel.
  • Timeshares- If you or someone you know owns a timeshare, definitely make use of it. If not, it may be an appropriate investment. Timeshares allow you access to accommodations in resorts all over the world at discounted rates. My friends and I stayed at a GORGEOUS resort in Los Cabos, Mexico for a total price of about $200 for the week( about $50 each for the four of us)
  • Price Matching: Recently, Jesenia and I were trying to purchase a hotel deal through Gilt, however we needed two rooms and there was only one left available. We soon realized that Expedia, who was advertising the hotel for a higher price, offered the possibility of price matching. We then booked one hotel through Gilt and the other through Expedia’s price matching program for a really cheap rate. Many other booking sites offer the same price match guarantee so check it out!

Does this all seem like too much to you? Understandable! We’ll gladly book your trip for you with a fee of $50 for domestic travel and $100 for international travel. Contact us with your travel inquiries here.
